This property is a 3 bed detached home and is 80 years old. It has had the following environmental improvements:
Insulation: Internal wall insulation, loft insulation in 2012, hot water tank has an insulating jacket and some of the water pipes were insulated in 2012.
Glazing: Windows are double glazed and outside doors have been draught proofed.
Heating system includes modern controls, thermostatic radiator valves and Chemical inhibitors to help maintain central heating system efficiency. A wood fuelled stove was installed in 2014.
Photovoltaic panels (PV) panels were installed in 2011.
Lighting: Low Energy Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFL’s) installed in 2010.
A range of no, low and energy efficient appliances are used together with a plug in energy monitor.
Water Management: Rainwater harvesting using 4 water butts used since 2011 and as no water is in the sewage receives a discount on water bill. Low/dual flush toilet installed in 2011. Reduced capacity bath and water efficient appliances.
Garden: Is wildlife friendly including bird feeders and log piles and used to grow some food using home made compost.
